On a bright and beautiful Saturday afternoon, the Toronto community came together at Canoe Landing Park for one of the city’s most delightful gatherings — the Cake Picnic, hosted by Le Dolci. This annual celebration of creativity, connection, and cake brought together local bakers, food lovers, families, and friends for a day filled with sweetness in every sense.
The Cake Picnic: Part Deux
This year’s edition — Cake Picnic: Part Deux — invited anyone with a love of baking to whip up their best creations, present them to the crowd, and share in a joyful, open tasting experience. Rows of colorful cakes lined the park under the sun, each one a testament to the imagination and skill of its maker. From classic chocolate layers to whimsical, multi-coloured confections, every slice told its own delicious story.
Fueling the Fun
CAFE was thrilled to join the festivities, serving up freshly brewed coffee to fuel the fun. Our team set up a cozy corner at the park, where guests could enjoy a cup of smooth, aromatic coffee alongside their slice of cake. As people wandered from table to table sampling the sweet creations, the rich scent of coffee filled the air — the perfect companion to the day’s indulgence. Many attendees stopped by for refills, eager to pair their next bite with another sip.
Beyond the cakes and coffee, the Cake Picnic offered a full afternoon of experiences that made the day even more memorable. Guests adorned themselves with flower crowns, enjoyed henna tattoos, and danced along to music from a live DJ, who kept the good vibes flowing from start to finish. Refreshing non-alcoholic mocktails were served throughout the day, providing a cool and colourful complement to all the treats. It was a joyful mix of art, flavor, and community — everything that makes Toronto’s local events so special.
For CAFE, participating in community events like this is about more than serving great coffee — it’s about connection. We love being part of gatherings that bring people together over shared experiences, creativity, and conversation. The Cake Picnic embodies exactly that spirit: people of all backgrounds coming together to celebrate the simple joy of making and sharing something sweet.
A Sweet Day
By the end of the afternoon, plates were empty, cups were full, and smiles were everywhere. We’re grateful to Le Dolci for hosting such a vibrant community event and inviting us to be part of it.
We had an incredible time meeting everyone, sampling a few too many cakes, and brewing endless cups of coffee under the sun. Thank you to all who stopped by our booth — your energy and enthusiasm made the day unforgettable.
