This Monday, Oct 17 marked the anniversary of cannabis legalization in Canada. We are proud to be part of the wave of change that has shaped the cannabis space in Canada. More and more, cannabis is recognized for its healing properties, versatile uses and many wellness benefits. Cannabis has been at the heart of our celebrity chef dinners, comedy and paint nights, and of course at the heart of our business. It is an exciting time where ourselves and others in the cannabis industry are able to host events that are cannabis-centric, fun and exciting, and continue to spark important conversations.
This Legalization Day, we participated in an indoor, smoke-friendly comedy show hosted by our friends at Cannabis Comedy Festival. The night featured two back to back shows of live standup comedy by some of Toronto’s best talent. Both shows were fully sold out by the start of the night, even turning into a standing-room only scene halfway through!
Our CAFE booth was set up at the back of the room. We were fully stocked with an array of premium pre-rolls, dried flower and cool merch for anyone looking to get into the spirit of things. And there were many! People were excited about the opportunity to smoke during the show, and happily picked up their favourite pre-rolls to light up during the show.
We were proud to participate in the show in another fun way – by donating two prize packs for two random winners from the crowd! The night’s MC had the eager contestants come up on stage and play Rock, Paper, Scissors in order to determine who would take home the sweet prize. The basket was a fun one from our premium brand Smokes & Jokes, and consisted of a sweet bucket hat, a 7g tin of premium dried flowers and a tin of 4 x 0.8 AAAA+ pre-rolls.
The night was super fun and we are glad to have been a part of it. We look forward to more opportunities to showcase cannabis as a part of our events and ventures for years to come.
