CAFE Summer Movie Night: Across the Spiderverse

CAFE movie nights are always a great time, and our latest one was no exception! On Saturday, Aug 12, Cityplace residents and many others from outside the community came together for the latest in our Movies Under the Stars series – Spider Man! As the sun set over downtown Toronto, groups of friends, families and just about everybody began to set up in Canoe Landing Park, getting ready for an exciting film on a beautiful summer night. The latest Spider Man movie is an excellent cinematic creation and we were happy to be able to share this experience with so many people in our community for free! CAFE regularly hosts movie nights for the enjoyment of the community, and seeks to provide a quality experience for anyone wishing to enjoy it. We were really excited about this film, and a look around the park told us that we weren’t the only ones!

The movie began at 9pm, right after the sun had set and darkness had begun to take over the sky. Groups of people set up picnic blankets, chairs and pillows – everyone got nice and comfortable for the movie about to take place. No movie experience is complete without snacks, and this was no issue given the number of amazing cafes, snack spots and restaurants in CityPlace. Of course, our own CAFE is located right beside the park at 68 Fort York Blvd, and many people did stop in right before the film to purchase their favourite pre-rolls and edibles, for an enhanced experience. CAFE is also home to the city’s original and best infused iced teas – made fresh to order onsite, and an excellent way to cool down and get high during a summer night in the park!

A great night at Canoe Landing Park!

The movie played as those in the park watched, relaxed and socialized with their friends and family. We are happy to have brought this fun, wholesome experience to families in our community, and created an opportunity for people to get together and enjoy themselves without having to think about costs. We hope to have another chance for a movie night before the summer is fully over – stay tuned to our blog and our Instagram to keep up to date on all our upcoming events!
